How to measure an umbrella

Open the umbrella. If you have a push-up or pulley style, lock the umbrella in the uppermost position. On crank style umbrellas, crank umbrella to the top stop, so that the fabric sits taut on the frame.
Step 1: Starting from the end (or bottom) of the rib, measure up the canopy to the top of the umbrella (excluding the finial).
Step 2: Measure across the top of the umbrella
Step 3: Measure from the top (or beginning) of the rib down the opposite side of the umbrella to the end of the rib.
